Item Name
8 slatback dining chairs in style circa 1700
Details This authentic design was based on a provincial chair style circa 1700-1720. They perfectly complement a refectory table - see item 0410 - One concession to modern expectations is the upholstered seats covered in a sumptuous chenille fabric, in preference to the wooded boarded seats seen on the originals. Authentic mortise tenon and peg construction should keep these chairs in service for another couple of hundred years. Six side chairs approx 17.5ins wide x 39.5ins high plus two larger carvers. These beauties are now rare.
