| Details | When Bylaw decided to offer top quality soft furniture to complement their traditional oak and fruitwood pieces... they decided that Long Eaton based Gascoigne Designs measured up to their ethos and high standards. Designs were developed and fabrics sourced especially for the Bylaw soft furniture range... The Knole Sofa in Belmont Persimmon fabric was, from the outset, a runaway success. It sat so comfortably with the whole Bylaw look. An extract from the Knole literature of 2004... Based on an upholstered settle with added hinged wings, fashionable in the 1660s, the best surviving example of the period stands in Knole House, Kent. The Bylaw Knole shows a clear lineage to that original design... albeit providing considerably more comfort! Made to painstakingly high standards, the solid seasoned hardwood frames are glued, screwed and dowelled to assure strength and durability. Each individual seat contains 20 coil springs for extreme comfort. Add to this a sprung back and feather or Dupont Qualofill seat and scatter cushions.... and the results are sublime! The seller states that the sofas and footstool are in mint condition with all cushions included. List price of set in 2006 was close to £7K.
