A Panelled Box Settle |
Details | Known as Chairmans Choice, Bylaw would make particularly special pieces... either complete one-offs or selected from the Bylaw range, but perhaps using a timber of special note... The settle is from this latter group... the classic Bylaw Panelled Box settle made using beautifully figured solid elm... with the three back panels each made of two book matched boards to great effect. Dimensions are approx. 50ins wide x 22ins deep x 42ins high. The seat provides excellent storage... an ideal piece for a hall or boot room. |

Reason for Sale | The settle has stood outside the owners apartment, providing an excellent service in the hallway of a prestigious early 19th century building. However, recent fire regulations restricting the use of furnishings in the common areas of an apartment building necessitate the sale of this much loved piece. |
Known Faults | Generally in excellent condition but There is slight movement in the righthand back panel where the two book matched pieces meet. A simple colouring-in followed by a good quality wax polish would make this slight flaw virtually invisible. |
Further Notes | This is a unique and highly attractive piece of traditional furniture. The sellers enjoy other Bylaw pieces within the apartment that will help to mitigate the disappointment of having to reluctantly part with this very special settle. |
